Redneck Roots

The clay creation Austin and I made
Ashley and Anna after a full day of fun

So the family and I took an hour trip south of the North Carolina border and went camping at Carolina Adventure World. This hour trip brought us to a whole new world of rednecks. Don't get me wrong, I'm from West Virginia so I have little room to judge, but it was just funny to see how big of a difference Weddington North Carolina is from Winnsboro South Carolina.
The thing about camping is that your eat so unhealthy; s'mores, pizza pies and brownies is what my diet consisted of so Sunday I made sure to run it off. But while we were there we had so much fun, my Dad rented a UTV so that Ashley and I could follow him and my brother on the trails (they have their own dirt bikes). By the end of the day we were all muddy from speeding through the puddles left from previous rainy days and I developed a distinct southern accent. Well not really, but I did get in touch with my redneck roots.

Don't Rain on My Parade

Best Prom Date Ever

My sister posing as an angel & I as a devil
So I went to prom. Trust me, I tried many ways to get out of it. Mel did my hair and after she refused to run me over with her car... I went to Danelle's (who was crowned prom queen later that night) where we took pictures. Dinner was at a different friends house, it was so awkward. I was afraid that I would be the stereotypical girl crying in the bathroom at prom. But we got on the bus, I sucked it up, the energy drink began to work and I had..... fun. I had fun. (I keep saying it because it is seriously surprising even to myself.)
So it worked out, as all things do. Yes they didn't go as originally planned: no date ended up being no problem. I'm lucky to have fun friends and a family who encouraged me to enjoy myself, because in the end you cant let others rain on your parade, or prom for that matter.

p.s. I bet you cant guess how much I spent on my dress ;)

The Ship Has Docked

Okay, so its back to reality now, and lets just say its hitting hard. I just got home last night and I am already back to school and my two jobs. Even though I am stressing about how all of my clothes that are lying dirty in my suitcase, it was so worth it. The vacation was much needed, and getting to spend my senior spring break with my best friend made it perfect. I ate so much food, got tan and met some really fun people. I could write about it forever but I'll just post a few pictures instead!

SBXI

I am finally about to leave for my much needed vacation. Seven days of relaxing, eating too much food, and spending time with my best friend and her family sounds like the perfect way to spend my senior spring break. I may not be able to post while on the ship due to the outrageous prices of the internet but I will be posting soon!

Juvenescence

Acting like an adult is overrated, I still like painting my toenails all different colors, swinging, hanging out with my best friend (aka sister) and jumping on the trampoline. So many times I reminisce on what it was like to be young and carefree, and then I remember that many of the things I concern myself with now-a-days is simply silly. Enjoy your youth, no matter your age.

Fresh Face

Its funny how spring seems to bring a new perspective of things. Like when your sick and all you can think about how good it is to be healthy, but when your healthy its not even a second thought. Spring reminds you on what you have been missing out on the past few months. Even around your own backyard.
