Cherish Life

"After you have wept and grieved for your physical losses, cherish the functions and the life you have left."
Morrie Schwartz

First off I just want to thank everyone for the lovely comments and support. I am really encouraged to know that people actually read what I have to say! Also, regarding my last post, I spent a total of $5 on my prom dress. I found it at a local Goodwill, paired with my $25 dollar hot pink high heels I spent a total of $30 on my prom get-up.
Lately I have been a little lax on my blog posting, my life has been super busy and I had to go out of town at the end of this week for a funeral. My great-grandmother passed away, so my Mom and I, along with my brother and sister drove to WV to meet my Dad and attend the funeral. It was a sad short trip, but there is peace in knowing that she is no longer suffering and is with the Lord.

Funerals are never my thing, I don't handle them well at all. I think it brings me a sense of urgency in my life. More than anything it makes me wonder who will be at my funeral someday, and what they will be saying. It also makes me refocus my life on those who are close to me. So while everyone was making preperations I spent a few hours talking to my other great grandmother, Grannieannie.

One of 7 kids, her father died when she was only 6 years old and she grew up in the poverty of the depression and in the fear of war. It just blows my mind how different things were back then. Shes been through a lot and she is a strong woman with a big heart. I am so thankful to have people like her in my life.
Forever Chic,
Amber
